Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Pregnancy and childbirth can be physically demanding on your body. Your body goes through significant changes during pregnancy and Deniliquin Pelvic Physio is here to support you. Our aim is to empower women to understand these changes, stay active, help you understand your pelvic floor health and prepare for vaginal or caesarean section births. We use a combination of hands-on therapy, education, exercise and support garments to optimise your health throughout each trimester.
We work with you and your obstetrician, general practitioner and/or midwife to ensure continuity of care and to optimise your journey through pregnancy and birth. We believe that every woman should have access to pelvic floor physiotherapy during pregnancy as pregnancy and childbirth are known risk factors for changes in pelvic health. We have the additional training to assess your current pelvic health and use this information to teach you how to correctly use your pelvic floor muscles and how to prepare them for birth.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!
Pregnancy and childbirth can have a large impact on your body and we recommend that every woman has a pelvic floor assessment at 6 weeks postpartum regardless of vaginal or caesarean delivery because of the huge impact that pregnancy can have on your physical body. This check also helps us to guide you safely back into activities and exercise symptom free.
We believe that pelvic floor physiotherapy is crucial postpartum to navigate the changes and challenges many women face after childbirth. Pelvic floor physiotherapy can help to restore function of the pelvic floor muscles and improve symptoms such as urinary or bowel incontinence, constipation, prolapse symptoms and pelvic pain. We can also assist with scar management including c-section, episiotomy and perineal tears, and rehabilitation of abdominal separation and core stability. We can also help to manage mastitis and blocked ducts. In our postpartum checks we also assist to prevent and manage any common postpartum aches or pains such as back, neck or wrist pain.
We work with you and your obstetrician, general practitioner and/or midwife to ensure continuity of care and to optimise your postpartum recovery. Our aim is to empower mothers to regain confidence in their bodies, and support your transition into motherhood.
